A WOODSTOCKNYPRIDE SPONSORED EVENT
Meditate with Pride
If you've ever said "I'm just not any good at meditation," this is for you! In this 45-minute class we'll practice shamatha, or breath meditation, and explore ways of working with and calming that thing that seems to be the source of a lot of trouble- the mind! There will be basic instruction as well as time for questions. Beginner's and experienced meditators are welcome. This is a fundraising event for Woodstock NY Pride.
ABOUT MARISA VIOLA:
Marisa Viola has been meditating and studying Buddhism since 2008, and teaching meditation since 2013. Humans are processing a dense amount of information, choices, anxieties and pressures. Coasting through has become impossible for most of us. Meditation offers a way for us to work with the one thing that we can affect the most directly: our own minds. In this way, meditation is an essential resiliency practice. It’s ironic that dropping our armor for a few minutes a day makes us stronger, but it does. It makes us more adaptable, compassionate and confident. As a teacher, she offers techniques and teachings that are designed to help you open up to and cultivate those qualities. This is a donation class, all proceeds will be donated to Woodstock NY Pride.
